My poor ignored blog
I have ignored my poor blog for far too long. I didn't do much before we went on our Wisconsin trip, but since we got back I have ignored it completely. Time to make up for that I guess.
We, along with our youngest son and his wife, went to visit my hubby's family. We decided to take the long way around or scenic view. We went up to Mount Airy, NC and stayed at a wonderful Bed & Breakfast, The Thomas House. It was a treat for us for our anniversary from our son and daughter-in-law. It was a lovely old home filled with antiques and crocheted objects. Needless to say I was in heaven. There was one afghan that was bordered on either end with angels. We tried copying it on their copy machine, but it didn't turn out too good. I never even thought of taking a picture with our digital camera. Some days the brain just doesn't turn on.
We were going to drive the Blue Ridge parkway to some point determined by the guys. However the weather was very foggy and misty and we didn't get to see much beyond the edge of the road. After a couple of hours of this we finally opted for the nearest interstate and picked up our speed. At one point our son decided to take another side trip to the next interstate. We went through the most wonderful looking little town (whose name I can't remember) in West Virginia. It looked like a town you would see in an old movie about a turn of the century (20th) either gold or coal mining town. We all wished we had time to stop and have a good look around. I think it is about an 8 or 9 hour trip from here, so kind of far for a weekend trip and a few hours out of the way to Wisconsin from SC.
We finally made it to the Ohio turnpike, or what ever it is called. We got on and off so many times that we became experts at it. We were going right by it so decided to have a look at Notre Dame. Now we can all say that we have 'been' to Notre Dame. Family didn't think it was funny either.
Guess my Blog can't say it has been ignored now. I will try to be here more often. Sometimes just keeping up with Email is all I can manage.
