October Mountain Trip

I am finally getting arount to posting about our trip to the N. C. mountains. Our son and his wife suggested we go to the mountains again this year for my birthday. We met my cousin, Debbie, (I posted about her before) and her hubby (Carey) at a Jocky Lot, browsed from one end to the other, went for lunch at a wonderful restaurant with a great dessert, Fried Oreos and then went sightseeing. We followed Debbie & Carey (pictured) to a road off the beaten path(very little traffic) and saw some of the most beautiful scenery up there. Then we went to Debbie's camper near Cherokee for a chance to relax before beginning our trip back home. We met a friend of Whitney's in Asheville for dinner. Then headed home. The other picture is of my car after a deer decided he wanted to run in the road. We were around 7 miles into S. C. We couldn't find a body, so I guess he came out better in the encounter than we did. No one was hurt, but my car had a broken driver's window and over $1,000.00 in damage. He broke off my driver's side mirror and I guess that hit the window. You can't really tell in the picture but it is bent and dented all down the side. I saw only one deer, so I don't know how he managed to hit it that many times. A bad end to a beautiful day.
